EVERYTHING CHANGED
Just like all of you I was born with the will to survive,
And as a child I was always so happy to be alive.
But one day everything changed,
And all my goals in life had been rearranged.
My mind no longer wanted the same things as before,
And the will to survive was not there anymore.
Now it is a constant battle with my own self to live,
And the pain others caused I cannot seem to forgive.
My heart used to be so strong,
Now with every beat it struggles to continue on.
Over the years I have tried to stop my heart from beating,
But my failure just keeps on repeating.
We are told that you are healthy if you fear your own death,
Then what is wrong with me if I yearn to take my last breath.
I guess I must have broken something in my own brain,
Because this life is not one I wish to maintain.
