FOREVER SCARRED
I played your game for far too long,
Thinking I could continue to stay strong.
I tried my best to make you happy,
The whole time thinking you were too good for me.
I thought it was all a dream when you showed up one day,
I was so shy and had no clue what to say.
I thought you were so handsome and strong,
I knew you wouldn’t be single for long.
I never expected you to focus your eyes on me,
You said I was the one you were wanting to see.
Little did I know you would be the one to haunt my dreams,
Now every time I see you my fear screams.
How could I be so blind to see,
How horrible of a man you would turn out to be.
I had your children and took care of you,
And you returned my love by making my face all black and blue.
I would have given my life if you would have asked me too,
Instead you tried to tear me in two.
You devastated me to the point of breaking,
My heart just couldn’t stop aching.
I loved you more than anything,
Not knowing the whole time you were misrepresenting.
And now I am broken and mentally scarred,
My whole life I now want to discard.
